The Right Whale’s Tale (2022)

There once was a whale that swam the sea

When she came across a whaling fleet

The right whale swam away from there

To where rough winds did blow

Soon may the whalers come

To kill us off, one by one

One day, the whaling will stop

'Til then our blood will flow

The ships had been two weeks from shore

When down on them, a right whale bore

The captain called all hands and swore

He'd take that whale in tow

Soon may the whalers come

To kill us off, one by one

One day, the whaling will stop

'Til then our blood will flow

The whaling ships prepared to fight

They saw the whale, it was a right

The harpoon hit the whale's side

The whale dived down below

Soon may the whalers come

To kill us off, one by one

One day, the whaling will stop

'Til then our blood will flow

The whale did not want to die

The men let out a battle cry

She did not go without a fight

She took the ship in tow

Soon may the whalers come

To kill us off, one by one

One day, the whaling will stop

'Til then our blood will flow

For forty days or even more

The line went slack then tight once more

All boats were lost, there were only four

And still that whale did go

Soon may the whalers come

To kill us off, one by one

One day, the whaling will stop

'Til then our blood will flow

Whaling is still going on

Harpooned and killed from dusk till dawn

Thousands die every year

All across the globe

Still do the whalers come

To kill us off, one by one

When will the whaling stop?

'Til then our blood will flow

Still do the whalers come

To kill us off, one by one

When will the whaling stop?

'Til then our blood will flow

'Til then our blood will flow
