Welcome to Valar Productions — welcome to my creative universe.

I believe creativity should be accessible to all. That’s why some of my work is available here under the philosophy of Pay What You Want, while others are offered for a small price on platforms like Amazon, Bandcamp, and Shutterstock. Your support, in any form, helps me continue creating.

Ebooks

Step into stories that captivate, challenge, and inspire. From thought-provoking narratives to immersive adventures, my ebooks offer a unique blend of depth and imagination.

The shortest stories are available here (PWYW), while regular short ebooks can be found on Amazon.

Music

My music lives on Bandcamp and spans four distinct projects:

  • Herfstlicht – poetic rock in Dutch and English, exploring life’s emotional landscapes, from the melancholic to the hopeful.
  • D-Dork – quirky, upbeat dance music with a wink; not always serious, but always fun.
  • Hrafnaskáldið (The Raven Skald) – primal, ritualistic soundscapes inspired by nature and ancestral rhythms.
  • Eternal Echo – a fusion of metal and folk that weaves myth into music through haunting melodies and powerful riffs.

Poetry

Raw, evocative, and deeply personal—my poetry explores the unspoken struggles of the soul, fleeting moments of beauty, and the relentless search for meaning.

If you're drawn to honest, emotionally resonant verse, my words are waiting for you—right here on this site.

Photography

Through photography, I capture single, fleeting instants where time seems to stand still. In that moment, the subject becomes eternal. That, too, is a form of poetry.

Some images are shared here; a broader collection is available on Shutterstock.

Center stage: Another Battle Lost

Another Battle Lost is a deeply human portrait of a man wrestling with invisible struggles while trying to hold his life together. Ethan is a husband, a father, and a hardworking professional—roles that demand more than he feels he has to give. Each day becomes a quiet war between responsibility and exhaustion, connection and withdrawal, hope and despair.

Through intimate family moments, tense workplace encounters, and the quiet spaces in between, the story explores the weight of expectations, the unspoken toll of mental strain, and the fragile threads that keep relationships alive.

Told with unflinching honesty and emotional nuance, Another Battle Lost invites readers to step into the shoes of someone silently fighting battles few can see. It is a poignant reflection on love, vulnerability, and the courage it takes to face the parts of ourselves we most want to hide.

Hrafn Enginnson

For the most part I'm an autodidact. What I lack in technical education, I try to make up for with passion and enthousiasm.

I consider myself to be a multidisciplinary artist.

My journey into the arts began with music when I picked up my mom's acoustic guitar when I was younger. In my teens I discovered the drums and a whole new world opened up for me. Throughout my adulthood, I also got a bit acquainted with the keyboard.

Early on I also tried my hand at juggling words into poetry and song lyrics. Later on I also began to write (short) stories and fairy tales, but also stage plays, film scripts and non-fiction.

I was never really any good at doodling, but that didn't stop me from attempting to draw or paint whichever came to mind. Through the last years of my highschool career I got introduced to a whole plethora of artistic fields that peaked my interest and that I still occasionally turn to to express myself, such as photography, videography, audiography, tailoring, sculpting, land art, acting, model design and architecture.

The artistic brain is known for its chaos

Because I often work on multiple projects at the same time, it is common that many works remain unfinished for years on end.

I get inspired by history, current (world) events and nature; in life, death, and mortality; the meaning of life; love; existentialism; loneliness; the call of the void; ...

The subjectiveness of beauty in all her aspects; Nordic countries and mainly Iceland; mythology and religion; suicide and the desire for (a) death, for an end; animal rights and human rights; veganism; justice; magic; fantasy; science-fiction; space; morality; ... also tickle my artistic mind.

Through the creative works, the hopeless (r/R)omantic artist in me attempts to control and shape his tormented soul, his broken heart, his playful inner child, his dark and heavy thoughts ...
